Editing case study
Eurofound – copy editing and rewriting
We all want to see our living and working conditions improve.
In our own small way, we’ve been helping to make this happen.
That’s because since 2010 we’ve been editing, rewriting and proofreading information products for Eurofound – the Dublin-based EU agency that promotes awareness and understanding of quality of life and working conditions issues.
We work with Eurofound’s in-house editorial team to ensure that all their reports and news updates are easy to read and crystal clear.
This is no mean feat, not least because most of the products are written by Eurofound’s pan-European network of experts and correspondents, many of whom don’t always express themselves brilliantly in English.
With over 2,000 information updates and over 200 reports under our belt, our editors and writers have mastered the complex demands placed on them. They produce documents that are clear and accessible to a wide European audience.
All documents must comply with Eurofound’s particular editorial house style. References, bibliographies, hyperlinks, and data in Excel charts for graphs, tables and figures also have to be checked meticulously. Google searches of European acronyms and institutions are also part of the job.
These varied and demanding tasks are carried out to tight deadlines to meet Eurofound’s tight publishing schedules.
Our work with Eurofound continues. It’s demanding and exacting work. Our team is always able to deliver.
In fact, it’s always a pleasure.
